Back by popular demand, The Nick Driver Band will grace the checkerboard square once again as he plays songs from his new CD, “Coffee House Here: Live & Rare Acoustic B-Sides.” Originally from Zebulon, NC, where his dad worked as a farmer and his mom as a receptionist, this Raleigh-based singer-songwriter writes about life and love. A talented musician and lyricist, Driver’s vocals are smooth, soft, yet also lively and dynamic. After years of playing in many different kinds of bands, he decided to venture out on his own and formed the Nick Driver Band. Since going solo with his original acoustic music, this young artist has attracted quite a bit of attention, including being selected as a finalist for the 2011 John Lennon International Songwriting Contest for his song, “Can You Spare Me Some Change. “
Driver has opened and played with the likes of Blake Shelton, Tony Bennett, Usher, Creed, Skillet and has performed at popular festivals such as the American Music Festival, Warped Tour, and more. This past year Driver toured four times in Los Angeles, as well as up and down the East Coast from Daytona Beach to New York and Connecticut. His song, “Let’s Stay Together” has gotten repeated play on Sirius XM’s The Coffeehouse Station. The station also featured him live in December of 2010 when he gave an interview and played a 4-song mini set. For more information about the Nick Driver Band, click here.
