Looking for something interesting to do in historic downtown Wake Forest Saturday morning? The Wake Forest Farmer’s Market will host the “Turning of The Seasons – Wood – Clay – Fiber” this Saturday October 15th from 9:00 am until noon. Three market artists will demonstrate their old-fashioned craft:
- Jim Wallace using his woodworking lathe to turn wooden bowls and rolling pins,
- Nancy Redman on the potter’s wheel molding clay into bowls or cups,
- and Joy Thomas spinning hand carded wool from her sheep into yarn.
Also this Saturday:
- Taste of The Market. Chef/Owner Chuck Hayworth of “Worth It Café” loves to support North Carolina farms by purchasing ingredients for the restaurant from our market farmers. Chuck will cook with sweet potatoes, creating sweet potato dumplings for your sampling. Demo begins at 9:30am and runs until noon.
- There will be live music by: Dry Bread Road. Our market friends Ric and Bette Newsome bring great sounds of bluegrass and folk from 8:30 am to noon.
- Get your coffee and come hungry for grass fed pork sausage biscuits from Triple B Farms.
This community event is free, fun and educational for all ages. Market hours are 8 am to noon at 110 S. White St. www.wakeforestmarket.org or call 919-671-9269
