Love art? Fascinated by the creative process? Know what you like when you see it?
Take it a step further this weekend. Come downtown not only to see powerful paintings and jazzy jewelry, but come to see wet paint and molten metal as well.
The artists are doing more than just showing their work. They are preparing to share their processes with you in their 17th annual studio tour.
Coming from a 16-year history of opening the studio doors to the community, the guild will be revamping the 2012 tour this year to bring the artists together in Downtown Wake Forest in eight art venues. Some are regular studios for the participating artists, and some are setting up their studio downtown for the weekend. There will be a schedule of demonstrations of the artists’ techniques throughout the weekend, and as always a central exhibit to present a taste of what each artist has to offer.
Second-Friday festivities kick things off as Arts 206 (map) opens to reveal the central exhibit during Art After Hours. Then the tour demonstrations and displays continue throughout the weekend – 10-5 on Saturday; 12-5 on Sunday.
Explore the guild website here to learn more about the 24 participating artists in the 2012 Tour.
