Wake Forest/Rolesville Allen Tate Realtors Supports ARTS Wake Forest through the Tate Cares Campaign

On July 20, 2021 at a Wake Forest/Rolesville Allen Tate Realtors meeting, Branch Manager Jeanine Lind presented ARTS Wake Forest President Mary Petretich with a check for $1,425.83 from the Allen Tate Foundation. This donation was comprised of contributions to the Tate Cares Campaign which gives all Allen Tate agents and employees the opportunity to support arts and cultural organizations in local communities throughout the Carolinas.

Upon receiving the check, Mary expressed profound appreciation on behalf of ARTS Wake Forest and its staff of volunteers. “Everyone enjoys having the arts as part of the community, but it takes special individuals and businesses like Tate Cares to keep them thriving.”

Grants Help AWF during Pandemic

ARTS Wake Forest has received two grants from local/state  organizations to assist with operating costs and other expenditures during the pandemic.

In December, AWF received $3284 from the Nonprofit Arts Relief Fund. The $1 million fund was created by the Wake County Board of Commissioners and the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County to mitigate the impacts of and alleviate operational disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We were honored to receive this one-time income matching grant,” said Mary Petretich, AWF president. “A requirement to receive the Nonprofit Arts Relief Fund was AWF had to raise an equivalent amount from March-December in the form of donations, sponsorships, participation fees, etc., which we did thanks to the greater Wake Forest community.”

Wake County’s support for the Nonprofit Arts Relief Fund came from its $194 million allocation under the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).

Also in December, AWF was awarded an organization support grant of $4892 by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with funding from National Endowment for the Arts. Grant funds will be used to cover operating costs over the coming months.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the North Carolina Arts Council gave Organization Support Grants designed to help non-profit arts organizations remain operational. The goal was to distribute much-needed operating support to keep arts organizations viable and were not intended to fund a specific project.

The AWF Board of Directors is grateful for these grants that will help keep the arts alive in our community.

Remember Us on #GivingTuesday

The season of giving is here and #Giving Tuesday is on Dec. 1. Please consider a donation to support the arts in your community. ARTS Wake Forest (AWF) brings you FREE arts programming like Six Sundays in Spring concerts and the Wake Forest Dance Festival.

It’s easy to make an online donation right here on this website or to write and mail a check. Just click on the DONATE page.

Like other organizations, AWF has faced challenges during the corona virus pandemic. The Town of Wake Forest facilities that we use have been understandably closed and all our events have been canceled.

Canceling events meant AWF was unable to collect donations, solicit sponsorships or sell booth space. Therefore, your support is more important than ever no matter what amount you can give.

Please help AWF plan its 2021-2022 season by contributing to its efforts. Your tax-deductible year-end gift will help make it possible to continue the AWF mission of bringing the community together through the arts.

Donate now.

Thank you for your contribution and support of ARTS Wake Forest!

ARTS Wake Forest Board of Directors

ARTS Wake Forest Board meets virtually in May

So many canceled events, but at least we’re not alone. Six Sundays in Spring, Dirt Day Draw in the Street, and Concerts at Mid-Day are all ARTS Wake Forest events that didn’t happen due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We’re not sure what will happen with summer and fall cultural arts events and concerts. Uncertainty prevails as we all wait and see.

The ARTS Wake Forest Board of Directors is still meeting and discussing ideas on how we can bring art to our community. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, please like/follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And you can donate to help ARTS Wake Forest keep art vibrant in Wake Forest.
