Franklin Academy middle school won last year’s contest open to both youth & family teams.

Wake Forest’s annual Draw on the Street chalk art contest held during Dirt Day is coming up on Saturday, April 4, 2020.

Teams of 2-4 people are encouraged to sign up by March 30. Registration is free and open to the public, regardless of your artistic expertise.

This year’s Draw on the Street theme is Spring Alive! Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, Most Representative of the Theme and People’s Choice.

To register, email Angela Jamison by March 30. Please include in the email each team member’s name and list the name of the adult (18 years or older) who will be present and chaperone your team. ARTS Wake Forest will present the Holiday Artisans Market on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. both inside and outside the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, 405 S. Brooks St.

The Holiday Artisans Market is a unique shopping experience featuring a variety of arts and crafts in a wide range of prices. The market has grown sizeably over the past few years and will feature more than 50 vendors. Conceived as a showcase for area craftspeople and artisans, this juried market features handmade items from potters, fine artists, photographers, woodworkers, fiber artists, jewelry artists and more.

The Market is free and open to the public; donations at the door are appreciated. Donations along with 50/50 raffle proceeds will support ARTS Wake Forest community programming including Six Sundays in Spring concerts, Music at Midday concerts, Neck of the Woods variety show and the Wake Forest Dance Festival.

The Holiday Artisans Market will be offered in conjunction with the Downtown Wake Forest Holiday Open House. Visitors can plan to spend the entire day in Wake Forest enjoying the holiday activities.

Are you a performer? Are you a youth? Well, Neck of the Woods: Youth Edition on October 25 could have a spot for you! We are interested in spoken word artists (dramatic reading, storytelling, poetry, etc.) or dancers. Performance must be at least 10 minutes long. ARTS Wake Forest invites artisans and craftspeople to participate in the fourth annual Wake Forest Holiday Artisans’ Market. The Marketwill take place on Saturday, December 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre in downtown Wake Forest, NC.

The Holiday Artisans’ Market will feature a variety of arts and crafts in a wide range of prices. The Market will showcase items handmade by regional artisans and crafts people including potters, fine artists, photographers, woodworkers, fiber artists, furniture makers, jewelry artists and more.

The Wake Forest Holiday Artisans’ Market is free and open to the public. A $1 per guest donation at the door is appreciated. Proceeds from the Market support the programs and events presented free to the community by ARTS Wake Forest.

ARTS Wake Forest’s Neck of the Woods event features area artists sharing their art in front of a live audience. Each show is different and features a variety of artists. We are seeking actors, dancers, musicians, singers, comedians, poets, magicians, mimes and spoken word artists. If you are an interested artist, please send an email with your contact information and a link to a video of your performance (if available) to ARTS Wake Forest.

ARTS Wake Forest is thrilled to present another FREE season of springtime concerts to Wake Forest! Last year, it was the Connells, and for 2019 we welcome local legends Southern Culture on the Skids on Sunday, May 5.
